Promoting Technology Adoption

Intel works with national, regional, and local governments to address policy issues and promote adoption of information technology. We are actively involved in a wide range of organizations to advance healthcare and enhance health and wellness. Here are a few of the organizations:

American Telemedicine Association (ATA) brings together diverse groups from traditional medicine, academic medical centers, technology and telecommunications companies, e-health, medical societies, government, and others to overcome barriers to the advancement of telemedicine through the professional, ethical, and equitable improvement in healthcare delivery.

Better Health Care Together is a coalition of business, labor, and public policy leaders who are collaborating for broad-based healthcare reform. Intel is a founding member of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) that promotes the role of population health improvement in raising the quality of care, improving health outcomes, and reducing preventable healthcare costs for individuals with chronic conditions and those at risk of developing chronic conditions.

eHealth Initiative (eHI) and its Foundation for eHealth Initiative are independent, non-profit affiliated organizations whose missions are the same: to drive improvement in the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through information and information technology.

European Connected Health Campus is a non-profit organization that is focused on the need to transform healthcare delivery to enhance the quality and effectiveness of care and the need to develop the "Connected Health Economy," enabling innovation and sustainable investment in the expansion of healthcare.

European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR) is a medical industry group that contributes to standards and policy for healthcare IT and medical devices in Europe and worldwide.

European Health Telematics Association contributes to the implementation of information and communication technologies in the healthcare industry.

Health IT Now is a coalition to promote the rapid deployment of heath information technology (Health IT). Health IT will benefit patients and healthcare consumers while supporting health practitioners to make smart decisions about patient care and save money.

Health Policy Institute (Japan) promotes research, education, and recommendations regarding health policies in Japan.

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Office of Advocacy and Public Policy advises federal and state leaders on regulations and policies to improve healthcare through optimal use of healthcare IT.

Markle Foundation works to promote a more patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery, care coordination, and IT investment.
