CORPORATE COMMITMENT
Overview
At Intel, our interest in healthcare goes far beyond innovative products and foundational architecture. That's because, as a self-insured employer, we're dedicated to employee health and well-being.
Our corporate commitment to improving healthcare includes encouraging each of our employees to take a three-step health assessment that identifies health risks and provides financial incentives and other encouragement to live a healthier life.
In addition, we've been a leader in offering consumer-driven plans as part of our healthcare offerings. And we are seeing results.
On average, those enrolled in the consumer plans spend 35 percent less than employees enrolled in a traditional copayment or Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan. As a result, we have been able to avoid raising employee contributions to consumer plans for several years.
We're Committed to the Healthcare Industry.
Intel possesses the financial health, the resources, and the passion to endure lengthy healthcare purchase cycles, product cycles, and the slow process of healthcare reform. As a supplier, manufacturer, and influencer, the company is firmly entrenched in the industry that is most critical to the world's well-being. Examples of our commitment to patient-centered healthcare reform include:
Intel and Digital Health
Built upon a decade of ethnographic research, Intel's commitment to finding ways to improve healthcare for people is far-reaching. Since 2005 Intel's Digital Health Group has focused on evolving the business categories of telehealth and independent living. By launching a joint-venture partnership in 2011 with GE, called Care Innovations, we strive to meet the growing demands of an aging population by developing and marketing remote patient monitoring, independent living concepts, and assistive technologies, such as the Intel® Health Guide, Intel® Reader, and GE’s QuietCare*. Intel is also building partnerships with Healthcare IT professionals to help advance technology and architecture frameworks for the 21st century.
